CAREER:
Roberts’ career has spanned over three decades across technology, manufacturing, international marketing, and entrepreneurship. Starting in the late 1980s as an IT consultant, he developed custom manufacturing software for niche markets and led software development teams, including a two-year project to create integrated business management systems for a mid-sized apparel company. In 1993, he joined that same company as Vice President of Manufacturing, where he spent eight years implementing new production technologies and managing relationships with more than a dozen U.S. manufacturing subcontractors. As NAFTA reshaped the industry, he established secondary production facilities in Central America while witnessing firsthand the widespread movement of American manufacturing jobs to Mexico and other countries—an experience that deeply influenced his understanding of global trade's human impact.
In 2001, he moved into international marketing as Vice President of Marketing for a mid-sized specialty company. Over the next decade, he built distributor networks across 30 countries and traveled extensively to markets including China, Japan, Germany, Australia, Denmark, and the United Kingdom to train partners and develop sales relationships. His efforts contributed to consistent international sales growth of over 20 percent annually for seven consecutive years.
When his company was acquired in 2011, he started his own marketing firm focused on digital marketing for small and mid-sized businesses. Drawing from his background in manufacturing, international business, and technology, he has spent the past 14 years helping companies navigate digital marketing challenges. His career trajectory—from software development through manufacturing and global marketing to digital entrepreneurship—has given him a broad perspective on how businesses evolve through technological and economic change.
